Reentry Specialist Certification
Why Get Certified?
The Reentry Specialist Certification offers the field a standard of practice to support community reentry programs to connect their program models to evidence-informed guiding principles. These standards identify and address important foundational knowledge, evidence-based skills, and core competencies for professional development across the reentry continuum. This professional certification is designed to help reentry specialists and leaders develop a baseline of competencies aligned with the most up to date science and high impact strategies.

“I took the NRWC Reentry Specialist Certification course in March 2023 and was very impressed with the training. I gained many new insights to my work in reentry. It deepened my understanding and use of Motivational Interviewing, helped me set meaningful goals with participants and has inspired me to implement new strategies in my work. I highly recommend this training for anyone working in the Reentry field. ”

Recertification
Every two years, the NRWC Certified Reentry Specialist is required to go through a process of being recertified. The goal is to ensure that each Reentry Specialist keeps up with learnings in the field, reaffirms the principles of the code of conduct and demonstrates alignment in practice.
To get recertified, contact Kimberly Crowe (kimberly@thenrwc.org).
