The Challenges & Solutions

Are In the Room

OUR WORK

NRWC’s work is determined primarily by what the field needs. NRWC does this by working collaboratively with its members and stakeholders through workgroups, to develop thoughtful innovations that close gaps in the field.

Collaboration:

Form workgroups to identify gaps in the field, and determine leading and evidence-based practices that can close those gaps.

Solutions:

Use the leading and evidence-based practices to develop solutions and make them available to the field.

Iteration:

Collect evidence and solicit feedback from the field to learn as we implement solutions and thoughtfully innovate to iterate the solution and scale our impact.

    Annual Conference

The NRWC Annual Conference brings together leading voices from the reentry workforce field: business leaders, practitioners, government representatives, academics, advocates, individuals with lived experience, and other stakeholders. Participants engage in a variety of learning and networking opportunities to increase their knowledge about leading practices and policies, sharpen their skills to implement effective programming, and build strategic connections that will go beyond the conference.

    Employer Engagement Training

Our Fair Chance Employer Engagement Training is designed to train job developers, employment specialists, program and organizational leaders in building long-term Fair Chance Hiring (FCH) relationships with employers. The training is built on 20 leading practices and organized in five phases of employer engagement. NRWC provides an engaging experience that includes an employer engagement assessment, two day interactive workshop, and a community of practice, designed to transform the way the field thinks and engages with employers.

    Certification

Our Reentry Specialist Certification offers the field a standard of practice to support community reentry programs to connect their program models to evidence-informed guiding principles. The is a self-directed program for reentry specialists, case managers, and employment specialists to develop the practical skills needed to effectively apply evidence-based reentry practices.

    Ecosystem Building

We believe that a strong local reentry workforce system is needed to sustain successful fair chance hiring. Therefore, we work with and empower regional partnerships to establish talent pipelines that meet local labor market needs.

    TLS Webinars

Our quarterly thought leadership series (TLS) webinar is one way we facilitate continuous learning in the field. Every quarter, we gather to learn from leading practices, policies, strategies, and approaches that are working in the field.
